HHAR aspires to:

The Historic Highlands Association of REALTORS® (HHAR), originally known as the Cumberland Board of REALTORS®, received its initial charter on January 11th, 1919. In 1999, the National Association sanctioned a name change to the current title. HHAR consists of REALTOR® and Affiliate Members dedicated to fostering ethical practices and addressing fair housing and real estate issues in Allegany County. In 2019, the Association marked a century of service and is recognized as the second oldest REALTOR® Association in Maryland.

Code of Ethics

REALTORS® adhere to a more stringent Code of Ethics compared to real estate sales agents. Beyond the ethics, rules, and regulations established by the Department of Labor and Licensing, REALTORS® must comply with the Code of Ethics prescribed by the National Association of REALTORS®. They are also mandated to undergo retraining on these ethics biennially to retain their designation as a REALTOR®.
